North Wales Military Aviation Services - NWMAS was formed in August 2001, at Hawarden Airport near Chester in North Wales, to cover a requirement for quality ex-military aircraft maintenance in the north west.

This company complemented the training and spares supply business that was already being carried out by the directors as individuals. We use primarily ex-military engineering staff backed up by highly skilled Licensed Aircraft Engineers and aircraft technicians from skilled aviation backgrounds.

In June 2003 we expanded to take on light aircraft and helicopter maintenance in the below 2730kg group adding an M3 approval to our A8-20 M5/E4 approval. In November 2005 we added Gazelle, L29, Spitfire and Hurricane to our A8-20 approval. In January 2006 we further expanded to add a Part145 A2/A3 approval for aircraft below 5700kg and helicopters below 3175kg.

We have been involved in the remanufacture of many obsolete parts for Jet Provost and Strikemaster aircraft and are looking at parts requirements on Hunters and Gnats.

We currently have a total of eight aircraft under our control, some of which are seen regularly at Air events staged in the United Kingdom.
